Amona evictees demonstrate at PM residence

Hunger-striking residents of Amona are holding a vigil opposite the the Prime Minister’s Residence as Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu undergoes police interrogation as part of a corruption investigation.

Referring to the unfulfilled promise of a new community, they are declaring that “A breach of this agreement is a breach of trust.” Addressing Netanyahu, Amona Task Force Chairman Avihay Boaron said, “The whole country is dealing with the question of if you received champagne and cigars from a close friend is a breach of trust, while the prime minister refuses to stand behind his signed and public commitment to establish a new community for the displaced residents of Amona. There is a serious breach of trust directed at us and the citizens of Israel, which should infuriate any person for whom democracy and good governance are important.”
