Exploding Hezbollah walkie-talkies appear to have been made in Japan

Images of exploded walkie-talkies in Lebanon show that they were made by Japan-based company ICOM, according to Reuters. ICOM has discontinued production of several models, including one that closely matches the walkie-talkies in the images. The hand-held radios were purchased by Hezbollah five months ago. Taiwanese pager maker Gold Apollo denies producing the pagers used in the attack and says they were made by Budapest-based BAC Consulting under license. Hungarian authorities confirm that BAC is a trading-intermediary company and the devices were never in Hungary.
