Palestinian journalist Shrouq Al Aila, who has been covering Israel's assault on Gaza, will receive a 2024 International Press Freedom Award in November. Al Aila continues to report on the war and its impact despite being repeatedly displaced by Israeli bombardment. She assumed leadership of Ain Media after her husband and co-founder of the company was killed in an Israeli airstrike. The Committee to Protect Journalists recognized Al Aila and three other journalists who have faced extraordinary challenges in reporting on their communities.
