The US State Department has urged Americans in Lebanon to leave the country while commercial options are still available due to the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hezbollah. Commercial flights are currently available but at reduced capacity, and if the security situation worsens, departure options may become unavailable. In late July, the US raised its travel advisory for Lebanon to its highest level after a strike on southern Beirut killed a top Hezbollah commander. Israel has recently struck southern Beirut again, killing the head of Hezbollah's elite Radwan Force and several other commanders. The US State Department has reiterated that Americans should leave southern Lebanon, areas near the Syrian border, and refugee settlements immediately.
