Hezbollah fired 85 rockets at the Haifa area in northern Israel, injuring three and killing a teenager in a car crash during the sirens. Some rockets were intercepted, but others caused damage in the suburbs of Haifa. Hezbollah claimed the rocket fire targeted a defense firm facility in the area. In response, the IDF carried out airstrikes on Hezbollah targets in Lebanon and vowed to continue strikes. The recent escalation follows the assassination of top Hezbollah commanders by Israel and months of near-daily Hezbollah attacks on northern Israel.
