Egypt's foreign minister, Badr Abdelatty, met with UN senior humanitarian and reconstruction coordinator for Gaza, Sigrid Kaag, to discuss ways to ease the crisis in the Gaza Strip. They emphasized the importance of a ceasefire and removing Israeli obstacles that impede aid access into the Palestinian territory. Abdelatty praised the cooperation between the UN and the Egyptian Red Crescent to facilitate aid access in compliance with UN Security Council Resolution 2720. He also emphasized the need for all countries to cooperate with Kaag and update the Security Council transparently on the developments related to setting up the mechanism for aid delivery.
