'Tens of thousands' have fled their homes in Lebanon since Monday due to Israeli air strikes that killed at least 492 people, including 35 children, marking the deadliest bombardment in nearly two decades. The UN refugee agency expressed grave concern over the escalation in attacks and the growing number of people forced from their homes. The UN rights office called for an immediate cessation of violence and the protection of civilians. UNICEF warned that any further escalation in the conflict would have catastrophic consequences for children in Lebanon.
