The US State Department has offered a $20 million reward for information leading to the arrest of Shahram Poursafi, an alleged Iranian mastermind behind a plot to assassinate former White House official John Bolton. Poursafi, a member of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), is accused of offering $300,000 to an unidentified person in the US to kill Bolton. The plan was reportedly set in motion after the US killing of top Guards commander Qasem Soleimani in 2020. The US designated the entire Revolutionary Guard a 'foreign terrorist organization' in 2019.
