In this week's parasha, Nitzavim, the Torah presents the individual with a challenge and does not provide them with the opportunity to hide under the umbrella of the general population and the nation. The covenant between God and the Jewish nation is a covenant of commitment and a strong connection that remembers the past, lives in the present, and commits to the future. However, this personal treaty can be difficult to understand and accept. It is important to understand this message during the upcoming days of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, as how we prepare ourselves and determine our path during these days will determine the quality of the next year.
