Hashem Safieddine, head of Hezbollah's Executive Council, is likely to replace the group's leader Hassan Nasrallah. He has close ties to Iran and has been designated as next in line since the 1990s. Safieddine oversees Hezbollah's civilian operations and has good relations with Tehran. He is also on the U.S. terror list since 2017.
