Cpt. Iftah Yavetz, a commander in the elite Maglan commando unit, was killed while battling Hamas terrorists near Kibbutz Nahal Oz on October 7. He was known for his poetic soul and deep outlook on life. Iftah decided to head to the frontlines without waiting for orders and fought fiercely against the invaders. He was buried in Tel Aviv and is survived by his parents and half-siblings. Despite the risks, Iftah believed that fighting for his country was not supreme heroism, but rather the standard.
