The UN peacekeeping force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) reports that an IDF bulldozer demolished an observation tower and perimeter fence at a UN position in southern Lebanon. UNIFIL reminds the IDF and all actors of their obligations to ensure the safety and security of UN personnel and property. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has called for the peacekeepers to move from certain areas near the Israeli border, accusing Hezbollah of using UNIFIL positions as cover. However, UNIFIL states that Israeli forces have deliberately damaged UN positions and that peacekeepers remain in all positions.
