The Hamas terror group is reportedly forming a Doha-based ruling committee to lead the organization following the death of previous leader Yahya Sinwar. The committee, which was formed in August, will take over the leadership of the group and is made up of representatives from Gaza, the West Bank, and Palestinians abroad. The committee is authorized to make strategic decisions and govern the movement during the war and exceptional circumstances. A successor to Sinwar will face the challenge of guiding policy regarding internationally mediated talks for a ceasefire and the release of hostages.
