The Lebanese army reported that three soldiers were killed in an alleged Israeli strike in a south Lebanon village. The soldiers were killed while evacuating wounded individuals in the village of Yater, which has been targeted by Israel in the past. The Lebanese army statement accused the Israeli enemy of targeting their personnel during the evacuation operation. The Lebanese army has little influence in Hezbollah's strongholds in southern Lebanon and the UN Security Council resolution that requires the Lebanese Armed Forces to be the only armed force in the region has gone largely unenforced.
