A former healthcare worker who illegally accessed the health records of US Supreme Court associate justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg before she died has been sentenced to two years in prison. Trent Russell, who worked as a transplant coordinator, was convicted of illegally accessing and altering health care records. He was also charged with publishing the information online, but was acquitted on that count. Russell disclosed the health records on forums that trafficked in antisemitic conspiracy theories. Prosecutors sought a 30-month sentence, but Russell received a 24-month sentence.
