Moncler, the Italian puffer and ski jacket maker, has reported a 3% decrease in sales over the summer compared to the previous year. The company, which is rumoured to be considering a bid for Burberry, cited a lack of demand in the luxury goods sector as the reason for the decline. Chief executive Remo Ruffini stated that the sector is going through a volatile phase. Cartier owner Richemont also reported a 1% slide in quarterly sales, with strong demand in some regions offset by a slump in China.
