The US has told Qatar that the presence of Hamas in Doha is no longer acceptable after the group rejected a recent proposal for a ceasefire and hostage deal. Qatar then made the demand to Hamas leaders about 10 days ago. Qatar, the US, and Egypt have been involved in talks to broker a ceasefire in Gaza and the release of hostages held by Hamas.
