IAEA Director-General Rafael Grossi visited Iran for the first time since the election of President Masoud Pezeshkian. Grossi had hoped to meet with Pezeshkian prior to the US election but the visit came later than expected. Grossi expressed concerns about Iran's nuclear program and urged for negotiations. He also highlighted Iran's violations of the 2015 nuclear deal, including the increase in enriched uranium stock. Despite public statements, there has been no progress in improving the situation with the West since Pezeshkian's inauguration. The visit comes ahead of the upcoming IAEA Board meeting.
