Saudi Arabia's counter-narcotics authorities have foiled attempts to smuggle $2 million worth of Captagon drugs and nearly half a million unlicensed Pregabalin and Tramadol pills. The drugs and pills were seized at various ports and airports in the country. Captagon, a type of amphetamine, is popular among young men and teenage boys in the Middle East. The authorities also discovered unlicensed Pregabalin pills and Tramadol pills, both prescription-only drugs, during the operations. Ten people have been arrested in connection with the drug smuggling cases.
