Metula has suffered significant damage from mortar and missile attacks, and the town remains a closed military zone. Many residents are hesitant to return until they are assured of their safety and protection. A recent survey found that 80% of those polled believed that the current security situation does not allow for the majority of residents to return to northern towns.
