Canada has revealed that it thwarted an Iranian plot to assassinate human rights activist Irwin Cotler, a former Canadian Attorney General. Cotler, known for his work in advocating for human rights and combating antisemitism, was notified of an imminent threat to his life in October. Canadian police have been tracking two suspects but have not made any arrests. Cotler has been under constant surveillance since October 2023 and has been targeted by the Iranian regime since 2008.
