During a hike with his five children, IDF reservist Matan Avraham rescued an injured greater spotted eagle in northern Israel. The vulnerable species, which migrated from Russia, was weak and had two gunshot wounds to its wing. Avraham's quick action saved the eagle's life, and it was transported to a wildlife hospital for recovery. X-rays revealed two bullets lodged in the eagle's elbow, likely fired by hunters. The bird is currently in intensive care and receiving rehabilitative treatment to regain strength and weight.
