Politicians in a coastal town with community links to Gaza have called for a ceasefire in the Middle East conflict. Residents in Hastings, East Sussex, have raised £22,000 for people in Al-Mawasi, Gaza, and have been building a friendship and language exchange for the last three years. A protest was held outside the Hastings Borough Council offices after a motion to discuss the conflict in Gaza was blocked for a fourth time. The letter to the Prime Minister urges the Government to act in the escalating crisis and stop arms exports to any party involved in the conflict.
