IDF killed Syria-based Hezbollah officer behind 2007 massacre of US troops -- report

An IDF airstrike in Syria killed Ali Mussa Daqduq, a senior Hezbollah commander responsible for planning an attack that killed five US soldiers in Iraq in 2007. Daqduq was detained by US forces after the attack but was released by Iraq in 2012. He then resumed leading Hezbollah operations. Israel has recently increased airstrikes on Hezbollah in Syria. The attacks on northern Israel by Hezbollah since October 2023 have resulted in the deaths of 44 civilians and 71 IDF soldiers and reservists.
