Former senior US intelligence officer Norman Roule believes that the incoming Trump administration's policy towards Israel will be largely similar to that of President Joe Biden's. Roule expects Trump to avoid embroiling the US, Israel, or the region in an endless conflict in the Gaza Strip. He stressed the need for humanitarian relief for the Palestinians in Gaza while ensuring Israel's security. Roule also praised the consistent and clear stance of Saudi Arabia's foreign minister on the Palestine issue. He expressed skepticism about whether all parties would cooperate in reaching a two-state solution and highlighted the importance of protecting a diplomatic approach from the actions of Iran and its proxies. Roule believes that progress can still be made in the Saudi-US relationship in areas like AI, green energy, and regional stability. He also discussed the situation in Lebanon, emphasizing the need to end the conflict and the suffering of the Lebanese and Israeli people. Roule stated that achieving peace in Lebanon depends on the Lebanese people standing up against Lebanese Hezbollah. He believes that President Trump will pursue his goal of ending conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East by surrounding himself with individuals who share his worldview.
