Ezra Kapetansky, a Modern Orthodox Jew from Skokie, Illinois, shares his experience of making aliyah to Israel despite facing multiple obstacles. He emphasizes the importance of perseverance and prioritizing aliyah in one's life. After several failed attempts, Ezra and his wife finally moved to Israel in 2023, settling in the Carmei Gat neighborhood. They chose Carmei Gat for its English-speaking community, good infrastructure, and affordable housing. Despite challenges, such as unemployment and bureaucratic hurdles, the Kapetanskys have found success and happiness in their new home. Ezra is actively involved in his community and is working on fundraising for a new synagogue building.
