Iran's Khamenei calls for death sentence for Israeli leaders, not arrest warrants

The supreme leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has called for death sentences to be issued for Israeli leaders instead of arrest warrants. This comes after the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, former defense chief Yoav Gallant, and a Hamas leader. The ICC judges believe there are reasonable grounds to believe Netanyahu and Gallant are responsible for acts including murder, persecution, and starvation as a weapon of war. Israel has rejected the jurisdiction of the ICC and denies war crimes in Gaza. The United States also rejected the decision, while some Western member countries have said they would honor the arrest warrants if Netanyahu or Gallant arrived in their countries.
