Lt. Col. (res.) Yaniv Yarom, the commander who allowed Ze'ev Erlich to enter Lebanon, has requested to step down from his position. Yarom took command responsibility for the incident that resulted in Erlich's death, along with the death of another soldier and serious injuries to an officer. Yarom stated that he believes he must take responsibility for the incident based on his values and the belief that pride comes with responsibility.
