The UN General Assembly has called on Israel to withdraw from the occupied Palestinian territories and push for the creation of a Palestinian state. The Assembly expressed support for the two-state solution and called for a high-level international meeting in June 2025 to revive diplomatic efforts. It also called for the realization of the rights of the Palestinian people, including the right to self-determination and an independent state. The UN considers the West Bank, east Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip to be unlawfully occupied by Israel.
