A Palestinian Winemaker Strives to Make Great Wines, Despite Hardships

Sari Khoury, a Palestinian winemaker in the West Bank, continues to produce excellent natural wines despite the hardships and challenges he faces due to the ongoing conflict in the region. Khoury is one of the few winemakers in the West Bank and is passionate about the ancient winemaking history of Palestinians. He faces difficulties in traveling to the vineyards near Bethlehem due to the separation wall and checkpoints. However, Khoury remains committed to his craft and believes that wine is above politics. He produces wines naturally from grapes grown near Bethlehem and is focused on exploring the potential of native grape varieties.
