Lebanon PM condemns Israeli airstrike on Khiam as 'treachery'

Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati accuses Israel of 'treachery' after an airstrike on the border town of Khiam, which came less than 24 hours after the Lebanese army began deploying there under a ceasefire agreement. Mikati criticizes Israeli forces for resuming attacks on the town despite the ceasefire commitments made by the US and France. The Israeli army occupied the Khiam area during its land operation in southern Lebanon last October. Amnesty International demands an investigation into Israeli airstrikes, claiming that they unlawfully targeted residential buildings and must be considered war crimes.
