Three UN and US officials have accused Israel of failing to crack down on armed gangs attacking food convoys in Gaza, despite a pledge in mid-October to do so. The officials claim that Israel has remained focused on its fight against Hamas and has only taken limited actions against the gangs operating in parts of Gaza under Israeli control. The violence has led to a crippling of supply lines, which most of Gaza's 2.1 million civilians rely on for survival. In October, $9.5 million worth of food and other goods was lost due to attacks and looting, and preliminary data shows that November was even worse.
