The International Court of Justice (ICJ) has agreed to take up a request for an advisory opinion on Israeli legislation banning the operations of the UN agency for Palestinian refugees, UNRWA. The UN General Assembly voted last week to ask the ICJ for an advisory opinion on Israel's obligations to facilitate aid to Palestinians. ICJ President Nawaf Salam has set a date for February 28, 2025, for the submission of written statements in response to the request. Israel's Foreign Ministry has not yet responded to the request for comment on whether Israel will file a response to the court.
