An American missile defense system battery, the THAAD, was used to intercept a Houthi ballistic missile launched at Israel from Yemen. This marks the first time the THAAD system has been used since being deployed by the US in Israel in October. The success of the interception is yet to be determined. The IDF stated that the missile was intercepted by air defenses, but did not specify if it was an Israeli or American system. The THAAD battery was deployed in Israel following Iran's October 1 ballistic missile attack.
