Dozens of patients and the wounded have been evacuated from Gaza for treatment outside the war-ravaged Gaza Strip, where Israel's attacks on hospitals have strained healthcare. The patients left the European Hospital in Khan Younis and will receive treatment in the United Arab Emirates. Among them is a 10-year-old boy suffering from kidney failure. Israel has controlled all entry and exit points since capturing Rafah in May, and its offensive has severely impacted Gaza's healthcare system.
