Lebanon's caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati has been invited by Syria's new leader Ahmed Al-Sharaa to visit Syria to strengthen bilateral ties. The invitation came during a phone call between the two leaders where they also discussed relations and the recent attack on the Lebanese army by Syrian gunmen. Calm has been restored on the border between the two countries as political negotiations continue. Meanwhile, Israel has hinted at further incursions into southern Lebanon and has demolished more villages, violating the ceasefire agreement with Hezbollah. Israeli forces continue to target Hezbollah's infrastructure, but the group is reorganizing its military position despite economic sieges.
