Three young women have been sentenced for attempting to smuggle over NIS 2 million worth of cocaine and ketamine into Israel from Europe. The women were arrested upon their return to Israel from Berlin in January 2023. They were found with large quantities of drugs packed into a Sony PlayStation console, shampoo bottles, and Dead Sea skin care products. The three women received lighter sentences than the prosecution had demanded, as part of a plea bargain. The fourth defendant is currently serving 34 months in prison. The women were part of a larger drug trafficking ring and were active drug users themselves.
