Two rebel groups from Syria's Druze minority have announced their readiness to join a new national army after the fall of President Bashar al-Assad. The groups, the Men of Dignity movement and the Mountain Brigade, from Sweida province in south Syria, expressed their willingness to merge into a military body under the umbrella of a new national army. However, they emphasized their rejection of any factional or sectarian army used to suppress the people, as was the case with Assad's army. The new Syrian leadership aims to dissolve the various armed groups in the country and integrate them into the military.
