Three Israeli men in their 20s were rescued from a mountainous ski resort in Japan after being stranded in sub-zero temperatures for 24 hours. The men had deviated from the ski trail and were reported to be freezing cold with dying cellphone batteries. A local search and rescue team, along with Israeli rescue firm Magnus International, located the Israelis and reached them on foot due to difficult weather conditions. The Foreign Ministry expressed gratitude to the Japanese government for their efforts.
