Sgt. Maj. Malik Karim, a police officer with the Israel Police, was killed on October 7 while protecting partygoers at the Supernova music festival from a Hamas attack. Malik and other officers set up a roadblock to slow down the attackers and allow people to flee. He was buried on October 10 and is survived by his wife, two children, and mother. Malik had served in the Border Police and Prisons Service before joining the Israel Police in 2013.
