Israel's embassy in Mexico condemned the destruction of a wax statue of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu by a pro-Palestinian activist at a museum in Mexico City. The activist placed a Palestinian flag at the foot of the statue, doused it with red paint, and toppled it to the ground. The embassy called the act 'odious' and expressed concern about the message of violence and hate it sends. Israel has been engaged in a conflict with the Hamas terror group in Gaza, and the embassy hoped that Mexican cultural institutions would prevent similar acts of vandalism.
