The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has decided to conceal the identities of all combat soldiers in response to efforts by pro-Palestinian organizations to get Israeli soldiers arrested and prosecuted for war crimes. Under the IDF's new guidelines, interviews with officers below the rank of brigadier general will be conducted with their faces blurred and their full names hidden. The guidelines will apply to all soldiers, especially those with foreign citizenship who are at a higher risk of prosecution when traveling abroad. The IDF's Military Advocate General's Department of International Law will brief officers before any interview with the media, and the footage will need to be approved by the IDF's Military Censor and Information Security Department.
