Ex-FBI informant who made up story about Bidens given six-year...

A former FBI informant who fabricated a story about President Joe Biden and his son Hunter accepting bribes has been sentenced to six years in prison. Alexander Smirnov pleaded guilty to tax evasion and lying to the FBI about the phony bribery scheme. Smirnov falsely claimed that executives from the Ukrainian energy company Burisma had paid the Bidens millions of dollars. Prosecutors say Smirnov's false claim set off a firestorm in Congress during the House impeachment inquiry into President Biden. Smirnov will receive credit for time served since his arrest last February.
