The Israeli military confirmed the death of Hamza Ziyadne, an Arab citizen of Israel held hostage in Gaza, as efforts to free hostages have seen little success. Over 15 months after the Hamas-led attack, around 98 hostages remain in Gaza, with 36 presumed dead. Mr. Ziyadne's death comes just after his father, who was also taken hostage, was buried. It is not clear how they died. The negotiations between Israel and Hamas for a cease-fire and hostage release deal have not been successful so far.
