IDF deputy chief of staff requests to step down, indicates he hopes to succeed army head Halevi

IDF Deputy Chief of Staff Maj. Gen. Amir Baram has requested to step down from his role at the end of February, indicating his intention to run for chief of staff. Baram had been asked to extend his tenure by six months due to the ongoing war, but now feels his ability to contribute is limited as the intensity of the war has decreased significantly. He expressed his willingness to fill any role required in the defense establishment in the future.
