A long-abandoned Christian theme park sits just off a US highway. Will it rise again?

A long-abandoned Christian theme park in Waterbury, Connecticut, called Holy Land USA, is being considered for revitalization. The 17.5-acre site, which was once a popular attraction in the 1960s and 1970s, fell into disrepair after its founder's death and was plagued by vandalism and a tragic murder. In 2013, the site was sold to a nonprofit organization with the intention of restoring it. The current rector of the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, Father Jim Sullivan, hopes to turn Holy Land USA into a tourist destination and a place of pilgrimage.
