Sgt. Emil Samoylov, 22, a lone soldier from Russia, was killed in the Hamas attack on the Erez IDF outpost on October 7. Emil, along with two other soldiers, was slain when the Hamas invaders attacked the on-base bomb shelter. He was buried in Tel Aviv on October 11 and is survived by his parents and siblings. Emil immigrated to Israel in 2021 to fulfill his dream of serving in the IDF and was known for his physical fitness and kind personality.
