A house once inhabited by Rudolf Höss, the commandant of Auschwitz, will be transformed into a research center fighting against antisemitism and extremism. The house, which has belonged to a private owner since World War II, will open to the public on January 27, the 80th anniversary of the camp's liberation. The nonprofit Counter Extremism Project (CEP) will convert the former Commandant's House into the Auschwitz Research Center on Hate, Extremism, and Radicalization (ARCHER). The center will be designed in collaboration with architect Daniel Libeskind.
