Hamas has handed over two Israeli hostages to the Red Cross in Gaza's Khan Younis, as part of a ceasefire agreement. The hostages, Yarden Bibas and Ofer Kalderon, were abducted during the Hamas-led attack on Israel in October 2023. This is the fourth swap of hostages for prisoners since the ceasefire began in January 2024. In addition to the hostage release, wounded Palestinians are expected to be allowed to leave Gaza for Egypt through the Rafah crossing, marking another key step in the ceasefire. Israel and Hamas are set to begin negotiating a second phase of the ceasefire next week.
