The Rafah border crossing between Gaza and Egypt opened for the first time since the IDF took control last May, allowing 50 sick or injured Gazans and their accompanying 61 people to leave. According to a cease-fire deal, 200 people, including 50 in need of medical treatment, are allowed to leave Gaza for Egypt daily. Most of those who left on Saturday were children, but the families of Hamas members were also among the injured. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that Israel has oversight of the crossings and the authority to block any if necessary.
